about satya
Satya is a Sanskrit word meaning truthfulness. Rooted in the wisdom tradition of yoga, Satya invites us beyond simply speaking truth and guides us toward living in relationship with what is deeply and truly real.
Most of us come to counseling carrying wounds that have not healed with time alone. Whether you’ve had to survive by hiding parts of yourself, abandoning your needs, or becoming who others expected you to be, beneath these layers of painful experiences lives an authentic, wise, and joyful core self waiting to be rediscovered.
This truth of who we are is like an acorn. Within it lives the blueprint of the oak tree. We don’t fix the acorn, we give it the right conditions for growth. In the same way, you already contain the wisdom, vitality, and potential for growing into the fullest expression of who you are.
more about meg
Hi, my name is Meg McNeil (they/them), and I’m the owner and clinician behind Satya Counseling. I’m a white, autistic, highly sensitive, queer, and gender non-conforming counselor and yoga teacher located in Red Wing, MN.
I love working with fellow queer, trans, and neurodivergent humans. My own healing path has been deeply intertwined with my identities, which fuels my passion and commitment to providing affirming care to those with embodied differences. I enjoy working with folks of all intersections of identities, and I strive to be a counselor who acknowledges and embraces the unique lived experience of every client.
My work in this life is to guide others toward an authentic expression of their innermost Self. This work is grounded in my belief that we each carry innate wisdom and wholeness that are waiting to emerge and be shared with the world.
On a more personal, human level, I’m a born and raised Minnesotan who also previously called Colorado home. I love to craft, write, and express myself. I love TTRPGs and cozy video games. My food needs to be crunchy. I love seeing live music, traveling, and making friends with trees. I have an amazing little family with my partner, our dog, and our cat. I bring a blend of sensitivity, warmth, creativity, and honesty to all of life. Overall, I’m a silly, awkward, autistic human who still experiences burnout sometimes and makes mistakes pretty damn regularly.
my approach
At Satya Counseling, I integrate somatic therapy, parts work, and relational approaches to help clients create the conditions for their healing to unfold - such as safety, attunement, and nourishment. Together, we’ll reconnect with the parts of you that have been wounded, silenced, or exiled, and gently build trust at a pace that honors your nervous system.
Sessions with me are warm, collaborative, and grounded in deep respect for your innate capacity to heal. Whether you’re seeking support as an individual or within a relationship, if you long for greater wholeness, embodiment, or authenticity, I’d be honored to support you.
